Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to my web page! I am originally from Havelock, NC. I graduated with a double major in English and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Also, I am the current Head Coach of Men's Soccer for HRHS.

I love literature, but even more than that, I love the effect it can have on changing a young mind. I look forward to helping students realize the value of the books we read, as well as the value of the art within each of them.

 I believe one of the empowering aspects of literature and English is the ability to communicate and relate to one another through this unique vehicle. We all have emotions and experiences that contribute to our personality. English provides a window into other people's psyche, which can be used as a tool to help us cope or feel like we are not alone. Whether it is a coming of age story, or a non-fiction article about the Holocaust, we are given the insight into someone else's life, whether it is fiction or nonfiction.
