Happy Friday, Cabarrus County Schools families!

We hope you've had a great first week of school!. Thanks parents, staff, and students for making the start of our school year a success! Special thanks to the nearly 1,000 parents who have already completed the August 13th Weigh-In Wednesday survey. If you missed it, you still have time -- the deadline is Sunday, 8/15 at midnight. You can access the August 13th Weigh-In Wednesday survey here: https://www.parentsquare.com/feeds/54780005.

Our transportation department is working diligently to complete ride requests and improve pick-up and drop-off times. We understand that transportation delays are not ideal for our families, and we truly appreciate your patience as we constantly work to improve our service. For transportation concerns, you may always email transportation@cabarrus.k12.nc.us.

Here's this week's edition of The Friday Five.

#1 Get involved!

Welcome back! We hope your school year is off to a great start. Parent and community involvement is an important part of a successful school system, and engaged parents are one of the things that makes CCS great. Here's five ways you can become involved today:

  • JOIN YOUR SCHOOL'S PTA/PTO/BOOSTERS CLUBS: Participate in meetings, committees, and school improvement efforts by joining a parent organization at your child's school. For more information, reach out to your school's main office or check their website.

  • SUPPORT SCHOOL EVENTS: One of the best ways to be involved is by attending games, performances, plays, concerts and fundraising events at your child's school. Schedules for athletics and arts performances (will be available next week) are at the bottom of the Friday Five each week. Athletic tickets are online-only and can be purchased by going to https://gofan.co/ and searching for the competing school.

  • VOLUNTEER: Help in the classroom, assist with events, chaperone field trips. or ask your child's school for other volunteering opportunities. For more information on the process to become a volunteer in Cabarrus County Schools, please click here: https://www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/volunteer.

  • STAY IN TOUCH WITH TEACHERS: Stay in touch about your child’s progress and ways to support learning at home. Please check with your child's teacher on their preferred method of communication -- whether that's ParentSquare, email, or phone -- and especially their office hours and availability. We invite you to establish a line of communication with your teachers.

#2 Infinite Campus Update

The Infinite Campus Parent Portal is now available for families to connect with their student’s information. You can follow the step-by-step directions on this document (bit.ly/CCSCampusPortal) to set up your account.

For more insight into Infinite Campus, please visit the CCS Infinite Campus hub here: https://www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/infinitecampus.

At this time, the parent portal will not display student schedules or grades.

Starting Friday, August 29, student schedules will be visible for all grade levels, and assignments/grades will be available for middle and high school students. This timeline ensures schedules are accurate and that teachers are ready to share grades in this new platform. We encourage you to log in now so you’re ready to view your student’s schedule and grades when they go live. Once activated, the Parent Portal will be your go-to place to stay updated on your student’s progress.

For questions or to update your contact information in the Student Information System, please contact your child's school.

New for 2025: Weigh-in Wednesdays

Two questions. Two minutes. Stronger community.

Thanks to the nearly 1,000 parents who have already completed the August 13th survey. If you missed it, the deadline is Sunday, 8/15 at midnight. You can access the August 13th survey here: https://www.parentsquare.com/feeds/54780005.

Every Wednesday morning this school year, we’ll post a two-question survey in your ParentSquare feed that takes less than two minutes to complete. Your input will help us make informed decisions that better support our students, staff, and schools, and give our school community a chance to provide valuable feedback throughout the year rather than an all-at-once approach at the end of the year.

You must be logged into your ParentSquare account to access the survey form. For ParentSquare help, you may visit www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/parentsquare or email support@parentsquare.com for immediate help with your account.
